Atelier Double Inc. (株式会社アトリエドゥーブル) was a development company in Yokohama established on December 26, 1986. It was headed by Toshiro Inoue (井上季郎). [1] The company filed for bankruptcy in 2004. [2]

In 2003, software localization company Unicon Products announced it would begin localizing console games into multiple languages in partnership with Atelier Double. [3]

Toshiro Inoue also ran a development company called Contents.

In 2002, Namco veteran Kazunori Sawano started a mobile game company [4] named after himself called Sawano. He eventually had to close it and joined Atelier Double. After Atelier Double went under, Sawano restarted his company with former employees of Atelier Double. [5] [6] Sawano — the company — also seemed to take over projects that were started at Atelier Double. The company was later renamed Aquria, which is now an affiliate company of Arc System Works. [7]
