Talk:Funari
From Game Developer Research Institute
Here's another wrinkle in the whole Funari/Octagon thing: PS1 Hit Back. Credits several of the same developers (Kouichi Iijima, Shuji Iwaya, Daijirou Yamada), but the companies listed are Excellent System and something called "Technosonic" that I can't find much on. --Dimitri (talk) 05:47, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
I noticed some crossover with Octagon Entertainment, especially on this game. I got a hold of someone, but they weren't too talkative. Something to watch out for. CRV (talk) 17:03, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
- The Pro Stadium credits suggest Octagon may have also included some former Hudson staff. A bunch of the staff seem to have later wound up at Refine Textile/Groove Box Japan though (Naoto Azuma, Tsukasa Kuwahara, Yuji Muroya, Kazunori Ishiguri) so who knows... Octagon's name still pops later, on Neko na Kankei, but the only name that looks familiar is Bunsou Yamada. (I'd previously misromanized his name as Fumimune)
- Also, as the Hudson connection might suggest, Octagon and Groove Box are/were both based in Sapporo. Given the staff overlap, I'd guess Funari likely was as well. --Dimitri (talk) 21:27, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
