Bits Studios

Not to be confused with the Japanese developer Bits Laboratory
The origins of the British Bits Studios go back to a company started in 1984 by Fouad "Foo" Katan called Mikto Limited. [1] A development team was formed in 1990 [2] that used the name "B.I.T.S." or "Bits."
In 1995, Mikto's business and assets were used to form a joint venture with Philips Interactive Media International Limited ultimately called Bits Corporation Limited, which went into receivership in 1996. Bits Studios Limited was started that same year with the acquisition of certain fixed assets and intellectual property from the receiver of Bits Corporation. [3]
Bits Corp plc was started in 2000, and Bits Studios became a subsidiary. Bits Corp became Playwize plc in July 2006. [4] Bits Studios went into liquidation in 2008. [5]
