Saurus Co., Ltd. (株式会社ザウルス) was established on May 6, 1993. Nobuyuki Tanaka (田中信之) was the president. [1] [caution: broken link]

The company was started by former members of SNK's Tokyo development team. [2] After SNK shut down development in Tokyo, most of the team moved to SNK's headquarters in Osaka. [3] Most of them eventually came back to Tokyo and established Saurus. [4]

Saurus was an SNK subsidiary [5] and was later based in the 2nd Kioicho Building in Kioicho, Chiyoda, Tokyo [6], the same building where SNK's Tokyo branch was located. [7] It was dissolved as part of SNK's restructuring in March 2000. [8]
