Developer Resources was founded in February 1991 by Kevin Seghetti and Scott Statton with financial assistance from Erik Anderson. The main purpose of the company was to create game development systems for use with the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and Super Famicom/Super NES.

Developer Resources was started while Seghetti was working SMS Rampart (subcontracted to him by RazorSoft).

Read CRV's e-mail conversation with programmer and co-founder Kevin Seghetti for more details.
