This game developer was founded in 1977 under the name of Hōei Sangyō. It changed its name to Coreland in 1982 and created several arcade games for companies such as Sega and Data East. In 1989, Coreland became a subsidiary of Bandai and was renamed Banpresto. Its focus shifted much more to console game development particularly games based on anime.
