Talk:Cepia
From Game Developer Research Institute
I'm wondering if perhaps this company was actually originally Technos' Niigata office, spun off into a separate company. There are titles credited to Technos Niigata up until 1994, and Koji Ogata says he joined Ichimura Engineering in 1994. Seems to have been largely the same group of people, too.
Incidentally, a bunch of Data East staff also show up around 1993-1996 (Kazuyuki Kurata, Fujimi Ohnishi, Seiichiro Ishiguro, Kazumi Minagawa, Takahide Koizumi, Shinji Hirao), I wonder if they were also part of Technos Niigata/Ichimura Engineering or another company altogether that simply worked regularly with this team (Digitkino?). --Dimitri (talk) 21:56, 4 August 2017 (CEST)
- I'm not sure how much I trust Ogata's timeline. He's said several Gowcaizer staff members including himself went to Face and worked on that Neo Geo prototype, Dragon's Heaven. [1]
- Speaking of Technos splinters, there's the two guys who made Aquarium. Masayoshi Satake from WiZ is the sound programmer. CRV (talk) 05:57, 5 August 2017 (CEST)
- Noticed this interview with Kengo Asai about Dragon's Heaven/DarkSeed [2], where he mentions that development on it actually began while Gowcaizer was still being finished. It's hard to tell from his and Ogata's comments if it was actually being developed *at* Face, or *for* Face, but if Gowcaizer was entirely internal development at Technos, that would imply Technos was involved with Dragon's Heaven, which Ogata outright said was not the case. --Dimitri (talk) 21:27, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
