Crux was started in 1984 by Orca's software team (which included future Toaplan programmer and composer Tatsuya Uemura) after that company went bankrupt and was thrown out of its building. After doing Gyrodine, Crux ran into financial difficulties and would eventually go bankrupt as well. With such uncertainty, the chief programmer on Gyrodine and two others left for Toa Kikaku and started a software division (which became Toaplan). Uemura was invited over, but did not leave until after he finished working on Repulse.

Uemura does not specify exactly when Crux went bankrupt on his homepage. However, it appears that the remaining team worked on the other games listed below in red. Was this still Crux? Did Crux crawl out of bankruptcy? Did this team regroup as a new company?
