Formerly the Atari NY Lab [1], WCI Labs was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Warner Communications formed by Steve Meyer to help design the next generation of Atari home computers. Warner later sold 78% of the company to WCI Labs management. As a result of this transaction, a new privately-held company, the Take One Company, was formed. [2]
