Thread on the development of SFC Ultra Seven and how it was actually a student project. "Akindoh" was a former employee of Human (I think he worked in PR) and previously attended Human Creative School. https://twitter.com/akindoh/status/1319116859489202177

  • Two projects from the second semester of HCS were selected to be commercialized, yet three project teams were organized. The mysterious third project turned out to be Ultra Seven.
  • "After graduation, those who wished to join the teams of Septentrion and Dragon's Earth would join Human, and those who wished to join the team of Ultra Seven would go to BEC."
  • "The Ultra Seven team was told from the beginning that there was no source for Ultraman, so they had to make it from scratch. So the controls and behavior of Ultraman and Ultra Seven are different."
  • It doesn't sound like "Akindoh" was actually involved with the project himself.

I asked someone if Bari-Arm/Android Assault was a Human Creative School student project. Their response: [1] CRV (talk) 17:38, 22 February 2017 (CET)

Here's a translation of his comments, for those who can't read Japanese:
"To put it simply, it was not a student project.
"I was a student at Human Creative School in its second class, but joined Human as an employee after. Students and employees knew different things; while a student, I knew less about the company's internal processes and business considerations. Student projects at HCS were based on game design documents prepared as homework; the concept was that the best ones were chosen, and students alone would develop them into games. For the second class, there were three student project teams, who worked on "Septentrion", "Dragon's Earth", and a third unannounced title.
"When my HCS class graduated, many of the students joined Human as full employees (by my recollection, there were around 70 employees before, but closer to 150 after hiring graduates; of course, that also included new hires from places other than HCS). At the same time, some people were selected for special project teams. I heard that these were new companies being set up with NEC and Sega. The NEC team became later known as HuneX. The team with Sega was the Bari-Arm team. The Bari-Arm team included many of my classmates (though I don't know everyone) working much as they did on the student project. Strictly speaking, it was neither a student project nor a Human internal project."
It sounds like the Bari-Arm team was meant to be the start of another joint studio like HuneX or BEC, but it never became a proper company after their first project. That would explain why much of this team seems to have joined HuneX or went freelance after Bari-Arm released. --Dimitri (talk) 19:27, 22 February 2017 (CET)

No new information, I don't think, but here's a couple more tweets he made mentioning that Sega team. [2] [3] CRV (talk) 03:39, 5 March 2017 (CET)
No new information, though it seems to confirm the assumption that the Bari-Arm team was intended to be a joint studio (he calls it "SegaHuman" in a joking fashion, obviously not the real name of the group). --Dimitri (talk) 02:37, 6 March 2017 (CET)
