According to game creator Kouichi Yotsui, Takeru (株式会社タケル; not to be confused with Brother's software vending service of the same name) initially "made toy stores." [1] Among the staff were Yotsui (Strider), Akira Kitamura (Mega Man and Mega Man 2), Shinichi Yoshimoto (Ghouls'n Ghosts), and Utata Kiyoshi (Metal Storm). Many employees left for Mitchell after the company became financially unstable, for which Yotsui takes partial responsibility. [2]

Products were published under the Sur de Wave (シュールド・ウェーブ) (or "Sur Dé Wave." as it is written on the logo) brand.
