(Capcom: Adding some unsorted games to the list.)
(Doing some reorganization. The most common, N-SPC and all its variants, goes first on the list. The rest are organized either by company or programmer name, rather than sound driver name if it has one.)

Version 1.01 and beyond are co-credited to Chip Level Designs.<br>

Home Alone, not listed above is a special case due to being the only one that doesn't fit any of these that credits Bitmasters, probably because it's an exceptionally early version (or even a completely different, but abandoned sound driver by the same company).

===No signature===

===SNES-side code not detected (custom no signature variant)===

* Mahjong Gokuu Tenjiku

* SD Gundam GX

All of the versioning are from the SNES side for the most part, and thus are basically templated.<br>

Opus has a way of handling the sound driver by using something called sndmnger, which basically handles commands and sends them over to DBOOT, which is in a separate code block of its own. Thus, it is noted as an add-on to the above, since it is also SNES-side code.<br>

* Rap Jam: Volume One ''(in-game sound effects only)''

This is based off of the musical data, which is real MIDI.<br>

The exception to this is Rap Jam: Volume One, due to it using N-SPC/Kankichi for music.

There isn't a game before Ren and Stimpy to my knowledge that has any ROM text like that. Mortal Kombat 3 gets away without having Ren and Stimpy in the ROM text by instead saying <pre>MK3  HI MOM</pre>. A couple of other variants were found, noted above, used in one game each.

Some of these are found right in the ROM text. The ROM text also goes directly to the SPC file whenever you dump a SPC of any of these games. However, it was determined that this actually refers to a sound driver loading routine that's packaged with this sound driver. This is the official example Nintendo Sound driver.

There are a lot of differences between each sound driver, although they share the same core code. This is still being sorted out.

Opus has a way of handling the sound driver by using something called sndmnger, which basically handles commands and sends them over to DBOOT, which is in a separate code block of its own. Thus, it is noted as an add-on to the above, since it is also SNES-side code.<br>

Some of these are found right in the ROM text. The ROM text also goes directly to the SPC file whenever you dump a SPC of any of these games. However, it was determined that this actually refers to a sound driver loading routine that's packaged with this sound driver. This is the official example Nintendo Sound driver. There are a lot of differences between each sound driver, although they essentially share the same core code.

SNES-side code not detected (custom no signature variant)

  • Mahjong Gokuu Tenjiku
  • SD Gundam GX

All of the versioning are from the SNES side for the most part, and thus are basically templated.
Opus has a way of handling the sound driver by using something called sndmnger, which basically handles commands and sends them over to DBOOT, which is in a separate code block of its own. Thus, it is noted as an add-on to the above, since it is also SNES-side code.
