Softie, Inc. was a software company that developed many computer adaptations of television game shows and acted as the licensing agent for Mark Goodson Productions (Family Feud) and Merv Griffin Productions (Jeopardy!). [1] It appears to have originally been based in San Francisco, California [2] (incorporated in that state on January 11, 1983 [3]), before moving to Phoenix, Arizona (incorporated in that state on April 18, 1985 [4]).
Arnold Zaler was president of Softie. Prosecutors alleged the company was a pyramid scheme and in 1996, Zaler was convicted of 50 counts of fraud. Originally sentenced to 14 years in prison, he was released on parole after six. [5]
