Now Production Co., Ltd. (株式会社ナウプロダクション) (Nowpro) is a development company based in Osaka, Japan, with a studio in Tokyo. [1] Historically, it has developed games for many of the industry's major players including Bandai Namco, Capcom, Sega, and Konami. Since 2000, the company has self-published original titles. [2] It is also involved in edutainment software development [3], pachinko/pachislot software and hardware development [4], and sound production through its MDR Sound Production group. [5]
Nowpro was established on June 17, 1986 [6], by then-CEO Yutaka Nakata (中田豊) and then-chief director Toshiaki Awamura (粟村敏明) with two other employees. [7] The company has grown to over 100 employees (as of October 2021). [8] Awamura is the current CEO (since June 1997). [9]
Companies started by former Nowpro staff include N-Tech, Tetra, Astec21, Workman, and Music Worx.
