Nexa was formed by Gilman Louie and a few college friends [1] in 1982 (incorporated 06/24/1982, California company entity number C1115094). In early 1987, British publisher Robert Maxwell's Pergamon Press purchased it and Spectrum Holobyte and merged them to form Sphere [2] (games continued to be marketed under the Spectrum Holobyte name).
