J-Force (株式会社ジェイフォース) was started by Wolf Team head Masahiro Akishino (秋篠雅弘). The company was based in Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Unfortunately, the company took on too many projects, which led to development delays, which led to trouble with clients. During the development of Dragon Force, Akishino disappeared, and J-Force went bankrupt.

After J-Force closed, much of the original Dragon Force staff joined Idea Factory, headed by Shingo Kuwana (who was not a J-Force employee but was the game's lead planner as a contractor). Dragon Force was finished internally at Sega. [1]
