Human Entertainment logo

Human was established in May 1984 and operated in mostly an outsource fashion, largely for Bandai, until the early 1990s. By that point, it had started publishing operations and became a relatively important publisher in Japan until it went out of business in 1999. The company also ran a game development school in the mid-'90s, from which several of their more notable games originated.

Human also started a pair of other development studios: BEC with Bandai in 1990 and HuneX with NEC in 1992. Both of these companies are still in operation. In addition, several other companies were started by former Human staff in the years leading up to and after their bankruptcy including 5pb. (sound director Chiyomaru Shikura), Grasshopper Manufacture (Fire Pro Wrestling director Goichi Suda), Nude Maker (Clock Tower director Hifumi Kouno), S-Neo (Satoru Minei and Takeshi Aikou), Sandlot (Shirou Kuroda), and Vaill.
