Billiken Soft (有限会社ビリケンソフト) was established in September 18, 1997, and was based in Osaka, Japan. Koji Akagi (赤城浩司) was the president (representative director); Hiroyuki Fujiwara (藤原宏行) was the director. [1]

The Billiken was a monkey-like doll created by an American art teacher named Florence Pretz that was said to bring good luck to its owner. It eventually made its way to Japan and became particularly popular in Osaka, where statues can be found throughout the city. [2]
