Founded in 1988 by Minoru Kidooka (木戸岡稔) as primarily a contract developer. It seems that some of the early development staff ended up at Minato Giken. The company became known as Arc System Works by 1995, and is now primarily known for the Guilty Gear series.

Not to be confused with the defunct British development house Arc Developments. This entry does not cover Arc System Works games.
