Optimus Software logo

Optimus Software Limited was a British development company founded in 1988 (incorporated on 7 March) by brothers Darren and Jason Falcus, who had been independently developing computer games since 1981. It was acquired by Iguana Entertainment in 1993, becoming Iguana UK (Iguana Entertainment Limited, renamed on 5 March 1993). Iguana was itself later acquired by Acclaim, and in 1999 Iguana UK became Acclaim Studios Teesside (Acclaim Studios Teesside Limited, renamed on 27 July 1999). [1]

The Falcus brothers left in 2000 to start a new studio called Atomic Planet. [2] Acclaim Studios Teesside was closed in May 2002. [3]
