MSX-C ver 1.1 CRUN
The string above is found in the ROMs of the following games that specifically credit Miki & Fujiwara:
- Double Hawk (SMS)
- Nekketsu Juudou (MSX2)
- Ultima: Exodus (MSX2)
It also turns up in these games:
- American Soccer (MSX2)
- Ninja Kun: Ashura no Shou (MSX2)
- R-Type (MSX2)
They are all mentioned on ISCO's website. [1] ISCO was a major client of M&F/Opera House. Knowing that AND presuming that leaving this string is some sort of "calling card" of M&F's (probably just reused some code) AND noting aesthetic similarities such as similar fonts or graphics, we confirmed this batch of titles.
Another SMS game contains the string:
- Cloud Master (SMS)
There's plenty of other evidence to help us confirm this one. A code comparison turns up lots of shared code. And if you hack Double Hawk, you will find Cloud Master music on it (Miki is among those credited with sound on Double Hawk).
Also containing the string:
- Chuuka Taisen (MSX2)
Not necessarily a lot of other evidence to back this one up. But considering that we've confirmed the rest of the games mentioned, and noting the similarity of MSX2 Chuuka Taisen to the SMS version (Cloud Master), we have added it to the list.
In addition to the aforementioned text string, the Ultima: Exodus (MSX2) ROM contains the following:
